DeMolays Support
Alzheimer Walk

On Sunday September 10, 2006 several members of Medina Chapter (and other chapters) assisted the Alzheimer's Association at the Cleveland Zoo to help with the Memory Walk fundraising event.  The members arrived at the Zoo at 6:30am and helped unload the equipment needed for the event including 5,000 bottles of water for the walkers to drink.  After the setup, the members were placed along the walking route to help with directions.  At the conclusion of the walk all of the equipment and left over water had to be loaded before the job was done.  So, what is it that can make a teenage boy get out of bed at 5:30am and perform all of the tasks listed above for the sake of those afflicted with this disease? One word...

DEMOLAY

By: Dad Shuler

From the Master Councilor: Adam Marshall

Awesome Education Day

Our education day was a trip to the Medina County Fire Department to sit in on a training session.  We had 12 members and 4 advisors present to join the 40 volunteer firefighters learn about electricity.  The session was a speaker and a demonstration on electricity and the danger it poses to firefighters and the general public.  I had no idea just taking a step toward a downed power line could put you in the hospital of worse, or that stepping out of a vehicle in contact with a power line could do the same.  It sure will make me think twice if I ever see a downed line.

From the Senior Councilor: Stewart Kilkenny

I would like to thank all the guys for coming out to the Western Reserve Masonic Community's Renaissance Faire on September 23rd.  It was both a fundraiser and Masonic service for our chapter.  There were 14 of our members there to assist with the parking and other duties.  In the mean time, Dad Shuler ran our tent where period costume pictures were taken and sold.  We also handed out several petitions and even received one back!

From the Junior Councilor: Tim Williams

Membership, Membership, Membership!  Ok, I got that out.  Now, we are doing well so far this term in membership with four new members in and two getting their initiation this month and 3 other petitions going through the process.  That means we should have 9 new members by Thanksgiving.  We have had a couple prospect parties already, but we are in planning stages for another informational night like we had last year, so keep up the good work and spread the word!

District Bowling by: Dad Shuler

District bowling has begun.  Week one saw Medina jump out into first place leading in every category including an awesome performance by Sean Shuler who rolled a 599 series and a 231 game.

Then came week two which was held at the opposite end of the lanes which were poorly maintained, however, Adam Marshall had a nice 190 game to help us take all 7 points and keep us in first place!

State Workshop and Fear Fest

by: Alex Marshall

Guys don't forget the upcoming state workshop.  Not only will we learn a lot about DeMolay and have a blast at Kings Island, but we will be helping our chapter keep the Chapter of the Year award!  You will need $40 or $50 dollars for this event so, check with our treasurer to see if you have "DeMolay Bucks" in your account that you can use toward the cost.
