From the Master Councilor: Adam Marshall

     I would like to congratulate our four new members on becoming a part of our fraternity.  I hope you will all have a blast learning and having fun in our chapter.  I would also like to remind everyone that our second stated meeting in September on the 19th will be a short one because of our educational day observance.  We are going to the Medina Township fire station and participate in firefighter training, so bring old clothes to change into for this event.  Due to the timing for the Medina Township Fire Department we MAY have to go there first before our meeting which would need our deputy's approval to alter the time of our stated meeting.  I will let you know as soon as I get the details.

     Thanks to everyone who helped out with our fundraisers last month, the Donut Hut and the Richfield Community Steak Fry.  Our next fundraiser is planned  for September 23rd at the Western Reserve Masonic Community's Renaissance Day.  We will have a booth there taking time period photos and we will have plenty of DeMolay Information on hand as well.  Please come out and support our chapter and have fun too.  I will be working hard to plan a successful fundraising term, but I will need your help!

     Well, we have four new members and I haven't done a thing!  Of course I will be working with Dad Shuler to have a successful membership term, but we already have a jump start.  We are planning a Prospect bowling party on September 30, 2006.  I will let you know the details when I finish them.  We are also putting together another mailing membership drive like we did last year, so let's get going!  If anyone needs petitions you can find them at our website or give me a call.

     Medina Chapter joined Meridian Sun Lodge on August 12, 2006 to serve the Richfield community steak fry.  Members Adam Marshall, Nathaniel Abshire, Curtis Pratt, Alex Marshall, Sean Shuler, Mike Scanlon, and candidate Antonio Sanchez set place settings for over 500 dinners and cleared the tables too.  It may seem like work to you, but these guys will do just about anything for a free steak!  What a great opportunity to serve the community and make a few bucks for the chapter at the same time.

State Initiation & Paintball

     It was an early morning ride to the State Initiation on Saturday, August 26, 2006.  The ceremonies were held at the Aladdin Shrine in Columbus and it was well attended by chapters across the state.  The officers did a fine job presenting the degrees to the twelve candidates in attendance.  Four of the twelve were from Medina Chapter, Alex Liss, Brian Davis, Antonio Sanchez, and Shawn Verovich.  We also had seven of our members there to support our newest members and blast them with paintballs afterward, of course!
